 own is a GRAMMY-winning musician\, GRAMMY-nominated producer\, former inv
 estment banker (with an AB from Harvard and an MBA from UCLA)\, and co-fo
 under of The Compass Records Group\, which celebrated its 30th anniversar
 y in 2023. Her collaborations with actor/comedian and fellow banjo player
  Steve Martin include the 2025 release\, “Safe Sensible and Sane\,” and t
 hey’ve performed together on late-night TV to promote that album.\n\nAlth
 ough Alison began her musical career as a teenager in the Southern Califo
 rnia bluegrass scene\, she has built a reputation as one of today’s most 
 forward thinking and innovative banjo players. She is known for taking th
 e instrument far beyond its Appalachian roots by blending bluegrass and j
 azz influences into a sonic tapestry that has earned praise and recogniti
 on from a variety of national tastemakers including The Wall Street Journ
 al\, CBS Sunday Morning\, NPR\, and USA Today.\n\nAlison is the recipient
  of the USA Artists Fellowship in Music and the Distinguished Achievement
  Award from the International Bluegrass Music Association. In 2019\, she 
 was inducted into the American Banjo Museum Hall of Fame. Alison serves o
 n the Board of Governors of the Recording Academy and as co-chair of the
